Kabul/New Delhi, Oct 15 (UNI) Fierce fighting broke out between Taliban and Pakistani forces early this morning on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border with both sides claiming inflicting heavy damage to each other.
Afghanistan’s chief spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said Pakistani forces once again launched attack in Spin Boldak area of Kandahar province this morning. Several Pakistani soldiers were killed and their posts, weapons and military tanks captured.

“Unfortunately early this morning, Pakistani forces once again carried out light and heavy weapon attacks on Afghanistan in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province, resulting in the martyrdom of around 12 civilians and injuries to more than 100 others,” Mujahid said on X.
He said ‘’Afghan forces were compelled to launch a counter-offensive and a large number of Pakistani aggressor soldiers were killed, their posts and bases were captured, their weapons and tanks seized, and most of their military installations destroyed.”
The fighting lasted a few hours and was brought under control by 8 am (local time).
This is the second time in a week that intense fighting has broken out between the two sides. Last Thursday night, Pakistani forces carried out airstrikes in southeastern Paktika province. Following that attack, Afghan forces launched retaliatory strikes on Pakistani border posts along the Durand Line in Kandahar, Helmand, Zabul, Nangarhar, Paktia, Paktika, and Khost provinces. Afghan forces killed 58 Pakistani soldiers and captured about 20 Pakistani border posts.
